I'm testing your memory here :D

I had three sets of the pro2 tyres and I liked them. I think I read the Pro3 were not as good as the Pro2 so I never bothered with them. Can anybody that used the Pro2 and now has the Pro4 help? Better, same or worse?

Pro4 SC are the best of the lot. Fast, light, and they don't get cut to crap after 100 miles.

    Thanks for that. Useful comment.

The Pro 3's rolled nice but the Pro 4's are in a different league, as near to Tubs as you could get IMHO, don't know about the Pro 2's

Don't forget that black are stickier than coloured versions, so would give the vanity a miss and stick with black.

I find each one has got a bit better.
Maybe the Pro3 cut up a bit easy, maybe bad luck.

Pro4s are better than 3s in terms of cuts. never used 2s. Coloured tyres are the work of the devil.

Haven't used 4 yet, but my experience doesn't tally with this thread. I often ride on unmade roads and disused railway lines, canal towpaths etc. My PR3s haven't cut up, usually last 2000 miles on the back and in excess of 3200 on the front before they're noticeably squaring off.

    I didn't notice much difference between PR2 and PR3.

I think I should try the PR4s, but I'm waiting until they're available for <£20 which is what I've paid for PR3s.

I've used 2s, 3s and 4s, all brilliant tyres imo, never had any problems with cuts etc.

I used a bunch of Pro2. One Pro3 self destructed quite quickly. More recently I have been using Michelin Optimum, these are basically Pro3 but in 25mm only in pairs. The back is like an Endurance and the front is like a Pro3 grip.

Which Pro4 are we talking about here - there's about 5 different models!

I assume it's the normal "service course"?

I found the surface of Pro3's cut up a lot but since it didn't penetrate the tyre it was never something to worry about.

Pro4 has addressed this issue and seems to maintain good feel and great grip.
