Any opinions please on this Planet X bundle?

Hi all
I saw this bundle being advertised on Planet X:
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/GRE ... ishing_kit
I would describe myself as enthusiastic rather than any good and am interested in upgrading some aspects of my 2012 Giant Defy Composite 2. I have new wheels that have totally transformed the bike.
If I could benefit from the insight of those on this forum who know a thing or two more than me that'd be much appreciated.
Kind regards

The sizes are on the small side. Most guys run 42 or 44 bars I would say. 100mm probably standard for stem although 90mm not that short I guess. Its not a bad price if you know the stuff is the right size for you. No experience of Prologo saddles but I seem to recall Team Sky not rating them last season.0

Would be fine on an Eddy Mercxx - so long as it was a small frame. 90mm stem and 40cm bars are very short / narrow respectively. Value-wise - undoubtedly very good.............. so long as you're looking for small sized finishing kit and the saddle suits you.0

BigMat and Wirral Paul
Many thanks. I kinda thought the bars were small too but wondered about a 'punt' on it. It's sometimes too tempting to see the word 'carbon' and suspend one's critical faculties! I guess it's a cheaper grade of carbon and probably no lighter than a decent alloy bar?
Thanks

Is your current saddle comfy? If so, I wouldn't bother changing it - the few grams you might save won't be worth the potential pain :shock:0

I think the quality & price are good. The main question is does it fit?'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Passout
A good and pertinent point. My stem's currently 90mm and the bars are 42cm. All seems ok to me (begs the question, 'why change?'). For information I'm 5ft 7ins, 30 inch leg, and now 10 stone 5lbs. My chest and tummy are fine in close fitting summer jerseys with the former being about 38 inches.
From this imperial data, are you guys able to extrapolate if this sort of kit, on a prima facie level, would be ok?
All purchasing errors remain solely mine.......!
Thanks

From what you've said, I'd stick to 42cm bars but it difficult to judge really.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Thanks Passout.
Given the general direction of opinion I'm inclined to agree with the consensus so thanks very much to you and everyone else.
