It's a bit tatty, but functionally perfect. Is an IDrive5 frame from about 2006, with a Fox RP23XV shock, OnOne Max hubs, Sun EQ31 rims, WTB Mutano tyres, Tora 318 130mm fork (to be replaced with a Marzocchi 44 Micro coil), Ritchey kit, XT cassette and Shimano twin and bash set up.
Is half done, will be finished off with LX/Deore kit and either Avid Juicy Ultimate brakes or Clarks Clim8 six potters. All the lot should come in under £300.

I like. Never seen a gold one before, or an I drive of that shape. Under £300 is brilliant!0

I really like that. My brother has an XCR 4000 (?) I think i rebuilt for him I LOVE the look of the bike, he is a cheap skate so wouldn't let me get it poweder coated etc. i think i may end up buying it off him as a retro toy.0

I remember testing an XCR4000 in 1999 - these bikes pretty much started the whole trail bike thing back then. Heavy, but the suspesnion was groundbreaking.0

I currently have an i-drive comp frame from 2003, pretty much the same as that above, sheesh is it heavy! Pretty much immaculate though....
Any conidince that frame is reminiscent of another frame with a 5 in the name?
(Dons stab vests and ducks into bunker).....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Nice build for the money. Some good component choices. Not sure its really an AM bike though.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Anything that has travel is an AM bike to me ;-).
Hoping to put a longer fork on it, the rear travel is ample for me, and is one tough (and heavy!) frame.0 -

They are pretty steep, but that's the way I like them.0
