Kykos bikes have any prestige? Never heard of them...

You have to look if people still buy Trek after the Armstrong debacle...I bet they do

The Trek guys can relax now. LA tweeted today how excited he was about his new Parlee being built up at Mellow Johnny's for him. There's another brand crossed off my wish list! :D

  • Anyone care to mention a high end bike marque that hasn't at some stage been ridden by a droog cheat? I can't think of many personally....

Do people really care that much that they associate a bike make with a drugs cheat so much that they wouldnt actually buy that make of bike? Frankly - if i tried a Trek Madonne and loved it - then i'd buy it. The fact that LA used to ride one is irrelevant really - and i cant believe a "grown up" would really refuse to ride a Madonne for no better reason than that.

You do understand why it was called the Madone?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

It was one of Lance's favourite training climbs, the Col de la Madone.

So people should buy a bike because of the name? Honestly??

And Domane is an anagram of Madone...

I couldn't care less personally, but I can see why someone would. They looked at Lance riding so fast and thought blimey, well it's not the bike holding him back... If it can win the Tour de France it must be pretty good, etc. If they then went on to find out he was so doped he could've won it on a tricycle it kind of detracts a bit from how good the bike may or may not have been.

When I was choosing my bike I decided I couldn't buy a Ribble coz the guy who lives near me has one and he has brown hair. I don't like brown hair, the Ribble brand is tainted now.

I think the point is that Di Luca has a financial stake in Kykos (I believe) so buying one is putting money directly into the pocket of a serial cheat who used his ill-gotten "successes" and high-profile to establish a brand. That's enough to put me off.
