'93 GT Zaskar with Marzocchi Z5 Bomber 2000 fork?

Hi all. Been using my '93 GT Zaskar as a city bike for years, but I want to set it up for trail riding with by adding front shocks.
This photo is from another BikeRadar user. My frame is just like this one (purple!), but it has a rigid front fork and V brakes:
A friend has offered me a Marzocchi Z5 Bomber Flylight Air 2000 fork from a Norco bike he's no longer using. The fork has some play, as in it'll go up and down when pressed, but my friend says it needs a tune-up. (I don't know what kind or why). I've looked at it, the condition is good and, best of all, it's completely free.
Question is: Will that fork work on my GT? I've Googled this as much as I'm able and found that the Zaskar works best with 80mm travel, and specs for this Bomber fork indicates it's 80-100mm.
Here is the manual for the Z5: http://www.enduroforkseals.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/00z5flylightair.pdf
Advice on whether this combo will work together is much appreciated! Thanks everyone.

Will work fine together. I've had many zaskars, even 120mm on 90s ones!0

Thanks Supersonic! I think that's your picture above that I've stolen.
Are you familiar with the 80-100mm travel? I'm wondering how to adjust that.0 -
Depends what (if anything) he wants for them, and what is needed doing to them.I don't do smileys.
