Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good bike insurance company or advise on any decent policies out there?
Thinking of getting some as just purchased a rather expensive bike and have two now so thought it may be wise.

Cheers

What sort of costs are people being quoted? I am being asked for c.£120 for cover for a £1500 bike, living in the countryside in Berkshire. Seems a lot. Am I being unrealistic?
MTB: Self-built Santa Cruz Highball Alloy 10 Spd Deore.
Winter: Emmelle 1980's Reynolds Steel retro
Summer: Specialized Secteur Elite w. upgrades.
    Commuter: Fausto Coppi San Remo

Quite a few treads on here regarding the subject. Have a search.

I have both my bikes included on my home content insurance at no additional cost, but some insures will have a limit to how much they will cover.

Just renewed our house policy with M&S. Used to cover up to £4000 which was great, but now £2000 for renewals and £1000 for new customers I think.
Have 2 bikes over £2000 (about £2200 and £3500) and had to pay £120 extra for both.
Seemed to work out better value for the more expensive one so being just over the £2000 is a pain.

Looked elswhere but M&S still worked out better cover for house as a whole.

They do not specify a level of lock security for when out of house, which I thout a bit vague.
