    They are a good way of avoiding stitches, i've had a couple of offs where pads would have made the difference between a long wait in A&E or not..

    Having said that.... it's rare that I actually bother to pad up and the injuries i've had have been on stuff that I wouldn't consider harsh enough to bother putting them on :oops:

    I find mincing, tucking and rolling to be the best defence.

    Mostly mincing though.....

    Where is that? I wore my kneepads for a pedalled week in the south of france, which was pretty damn hot- especially for a scotsman with the ginger gene :lol: But was still glad for them when I managed to fall off a wee cliff.
