This is the bike I have, I like it, but had to change the bar and seat to make it more comfortable. In standard form, my hands were numb and sore after 5 miles, sore back too. I like the flat bar during the test but not after a few miles!

I then read the MBR hard tail review in this months mag and see they put he pro model right at the bottom in the group test, they hated it basically due to the over rigid frame and crap fork (sl version has a good fork at least ). They loved the Scott Scale 960 though. It looks nice and is a bit cheaper I think, you might want to consider it.

    Hi Gary

Just to add, my review sounds a bit negative, I have a few km´s with the SL 29 now and I really love it, the 29er really flatters my fitness. I am very comfortable on it. The front fork is a peach, the CTD feature works very well, climb mode has little bob, trail is well dampened and descent has a little more travel. The brakes have great feel and are powerful. Like I said, maybe the bike suits you straight away, for me I needed to make some small adjustment and then all was fine. The Cube SL´s look the bollocks too! I had a black one before so this time I got the grey colour.

One other thing, the standard Rapid Robs are very good tyres, best stick on something better that suits the trails you will be riding, I have Panaracer CG´s, but there are plenty good tyres out there if you google around.

I´m just in from my 4th ride on the bike and can´t wait to get back out, if only spring would start some time and stay for good!

I think the bad MBR review could be to do with the crap fork on that model, maybe it just brings the whole feeling of the bike to a lower level.
