So without doing the proper research I decided to ditch my look keos and go for speedplays after all the good reviews I see. However after seeing a great price on some red ones I have ordered them, only to discover I have ordered the light action version not the zeros. Has anyone used both and have large opinions one way or the other? I paid a lot less than the zero version so would rather keep these if possible. I am going to be leaving keo blades(12nm) version and like how 'connected' you feel to the pedal but do wish for float. Any thoughts from current Speedplay users please.

  • Being fairly new to Speedplay Zeros, I'm amazed they actually make a light action version! I was hoping to increase the release tension on mine, but recently found out I can't....

My main concerns are clipping the chain stay with my heal and becoming unclipped when jumping out the saddle. Just cant dial in the looks, every time I go out I feel I need a minuscule adjustment to sort my knee alignment.

Have emailed to cancel the order as I need to be confident my feet wont fly out of them! Have ordered the zeros and cant believe it - but ordered them from halfords! When did they start stocking top gear at the best prices?

Biggest advantage of Speedplay is the free float for the people who need it for their knees. I've never heard of anyone having problems with an unwanted release even with the Light Actions so no need to worry. If the cleat springs are too worn or the cleats are not installed properly is the only time I've heard of anyone having problems staying clipped in. You probably made the right choice with the Zero's being your first pair since you can adjust them to your liking. I use all the float so I just stick with the non-adjustable X version.
