Removing salt stains from a leather jacket?

To cut a long story short, my lovely leather jacket had an unscheduled dip in the Thames today (I kind of deserved it) and as its drying out, salt stains are appearing :( I've had a google and can't find anything too helpful.

Any tips on removing salt from leather? or is it a goner?

    tablespoon of white vinegar in a glass off water rub on affected area.

    @seanconn - As someone else suggested, dilluted vinegar is the way forward.
