Hi, I have a pretty much new Carrera Virtuoso and when out on a ride yesterday I started to get what i think is gear slippage in the smaller rings of the cassette. I am not experienced in bike maintenance but is there anything i can do to fix this? If not does anyone have any experience with the evanscycles store in reading in regards to fixing bikes? I bought it from Halfords and had problems straight away took it back and they fixed one problem but now i have this one.

Probably an indexing issue. Do you have issues with shift down or up?
If it's up then turn the adjuster at your rear derailleur where the cable goes into counter clockwise by 1/4 to 1/2 turn see if it' helps. If it's down then do the same thing but clockwise.

Ricky is probably right. Cables stretch when new and you have to reset them to the correct tension after a bit of use.

If you think about it it is obvious. You have to pull the gear cable and increase tension to get from a small cog to a big cog and therefore you release tension on the cable to go from a big to a small cog.

If you are finding it difficult to go from a small cog to a big cog then your cable has stretched, follow Ricky's advice to reset the correct tension, but do it a little at a time.
