New 105 compact chainring needed
Sussed out
Posts: 189
The teeth on my compact 105 chainring are getting pretty worn, obviously I need to fix this to save me a fortune in worn chains and cassettes and the like.
I don't have the money to swap out the whole crankset, so I want to change the outer chainring but am struggling to find one.
Please could I have some suggestions as to places to buy one or what other makes/types would be suitable?
Cheers,
Ben

I've not used them myself but have heard people recomend stronglight

Spa cycles also stock them

and in my experience Spa they tend to stock good quality no nonense stuff - maybe not the top end tiny weight exotica but rather good solid kit and good prices. They are dead helpful so maybe give them a ring (no pun  ) ? Someone esle will be along soon to disagree though maybe0 -
Thanks for that suggestion, I will look into it. I am looking for as close a replacement as possible, I know the shimano ones are shaped for cleaner changes and I want a similar thing when I'm racing.0

Probably too late with this, but you don't have to buy the specific Shimano 105 ring you linked to. Any Shimano/SRAM compatible ring will work as long as the BCD (Bolt Circle Diameter) measurement is the same. For your compact chainset that should be 110 BCD. Spa cycles will have rings about half the price of that one from Germany, and you'll have it sooner.0
