On my old bike, I have Hope Mono Mini's , recently serviced by hope with braided cables ,
and on my new bike , it turned up with Avid Elixir 1 brakes ,
which of the two would be better to use ?????
The hope ones look better, but they feel the same at the moment ..
I have used the hope ones for years , and i know the're good , but i have never used Avid Elixir 1 , are they any good ???

The avid is more powerful, little doubt there.

Hope's have always been good and reliable for me and I've used them for dh, trials and just about everything in between.
Quality look and feel, loads of spares available at good prices and very simple to maintain.
From the little experience I've had with Avids they are awful!! A total pain to bleed and I've never liked the lever feel. Plus they always look a bit cheap in my opinion.

Stick with the avids until they give you bother.
