I am looking to upgrade the brakes on my cross bike, which I use mostly for commuting 20 miles each day. Lovely bike, but canti brakes arent' the best.....
I have tektro calipers, and have koolstops pads. Relatively well set up (used Sheldon and other guides).
They are not the great in the wet, so I'm looking for a bit more stopping power. I've been giving some thought to TRPCX9 (£100 for pair) or Pual Mini Moto (£100 each !!)
I would appreciate any advice/ expererience on eiteher, and whether they would represent an upgrade in braking performance.
Thanks in advance......

I replaced my Campag linear pulls with Paul MiniMotos. You pay for what you get. Superbly engineered, each arm is independently adjustable, work with short pull levers. Stopping power is great with the supplied Salmon Koolstops. It is cheaper to buy them from Pauls rather than from the Brick Lane supplier.0

Thanks Bill.
Managed to find for appx £80 each in US, but still need to do some saving!0 -
I have TRP CX8.4 - same as the CX9.0 but optimised for SRAM/Campagnolo lever cable pull - one of the most powerful rim brakes IME, but like all mini-vees, lacking in feel/modulation. Another alternative are Avid Shorty Ultimates. Paul Mini Motos are very nice but you are paying a healthy premium for a boutique brand IME - also worth noting whether cable pull is optimised for your levers.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Got Avid Shorty Ultimates on my Focus. Used to live in Cyprus think long long long 10% hills worked a treat there. Mind you no idea what they're like in the wet. I'm happy to say.0

I've used the Campag (Veloce) linear pulls and the CX9's and performance on both was fine - no problems with modulation with Campag, in fact I thought they were excellent when off-road but the CX9 did grab a bit. Didnt realise they were optimised for Shimano - I have Centaur levers.
I've now got a pair of CX8.4 which should be similar to the the Campag (85mm)
I now have Campag and CX9's for sale if you're interested!0
