Taunton to Plymouth April 2013 (mainly offroad)
Here is a link to a few pics of the Trails we ran from Taunton to Minehead and Minehead to Devon last month over a week.

It was a tough route and the weather was very wet, eventually we ran 20 miles short after finally one of the bikes broke and walked off to Newton Abbot, having used all our kit.
I built the route using a mix of the following trail maps
• http://www.roughrideguide.co.uk/
I would recommend both maps, the rough riders route should be ridden from Plymouth though up to Minehead and I would check the revised map as some of the route was un-rideable at times.
In terms of kit we always like to take a bikepacking approach and took all our kit on the bikes down some technical trails; I need to give a big shout to Bike Bag UK, http://bike-bag.co.uk/ who having changed to a 29er at the last moment sorted me out with a top tube and frame bag in a under a week, so big thank you and mention in dispatches for them (bags held up very well and very waterproof in some torrential rain over 20 plus hours).
Overall lessons learned on this trip, new GPS took some getting used to, especially when the route disappeared, need more wet weather kit, waterproof gloves, shorts and shoes covers failed (so opting for water proof shorts and knee length socks next time – any comments on how good these are) and we also needed some more repair kit, we broke a lot !
