I have had my planet x al30 wheels just over a month and only covered 250 miles and 2 spokes have snapped already. Planet x dont really want to help the 1 st spoke snaped only 26 days after getting the wheels so they relucanlty sent me a normal spoke not a bladed spoke after the saying spokes are not covered under warrenty. Then another spoke snapped last night. i really dont know what to do with the wheels, it feels like i have wasted £150.

Has anyone else had problems with these wheels?

Yeah loads of problems but I had them rebuilt (after snapping spoke), 2 lots of bearing changes due to seals and maybe tight tolerances but since that they are the best wheel set I've ever owned. I really rate the 300 kinlin rims.

at Planet X they use decent components but the build quality is patchy... they are built in the far east where there is not much in the way of QC and checking a wheel out properly takes the same time it takes to build it.

Try to return them under warranty and get a replacement... then take the replacement to your local reputable builder, who can get the tensions right for 20 pounds or so. At that point they will we a fairly good set of wheels

Box the goods up and send them back ' rejecting the goods because they are not suitable for the purpose intended'
Under the Sale of Goods Act you are entiltled to a full refund or replacement but you must expressly 'reject' the goods

Agree, I think it's important that you do it... Planet X is making a lot of money and it's becoming the biggest UK retailer, of wheels at least. They probably have margin to improve their quality, or make clear that the product is mass assembled in the far east and quality control is what it is and you get what you pay for

Not all the wheels are built in the Far East. Seen some getting built up for them in one of my lbs ?

Which proves the point... some are better than others... if you have more than one supplier, you will always have inconsistency in quality
