Side-wall pinch flat.

I suffered a pinch flat while out on a spin two days ago on a 23mm Continental Gatorskin tyre. The hole in the road I hit was fairly small and was actually just big enough to let the tyre roll in and put the pressure on the tyre side-wall. The tyre might have been slightly under-inflated and this could have been a contributing factor. Personally, I attribute the entire blame on the little hole in the road! A spare tube was inserted and I made it home.
I have taken the tyre off for a quick inspection and a tiny bit of damage to the outer side-wall is visible. On the inside of the tyre, no damage is visible. I will check it again in the morning sunlight tomorrow just to be doubly sure. My question is, as a general rule, does this tyre need to be replaced as a matter of course, now that the side-wall is a little damaged externally? Or is it OK to continue riding on this tyre as no damage is visible on the inner casing? I have been riding on Gatorskins for a few years now and this is the first puncture I've gotten. Any advice on this little issue will be gratefully received. Thanks.

if the bead is undamaged and the sidewall at that point doesn't bulge under pressure of a fully inflated tube it's okmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0
