Record Rear Derailleur

Guys/Gals,

Hoping for a bit of advice..........

On my Cannondale Synapse I have installed a Record 10 Speed rear derailleur (short cage) with a Record(?) 13-26 cassette, up front I have an FSA K-Force Light 53/39T BB30 and Chorus Front mech.

All seems to be fine until I shift up to the 4 largest at the back when the chain begins to catch on the bottom jockey wheel as if it is misaligned slightly (the jockey wheel seems to be on the slight left of centre of the chain and then drops into place), if I gently push the chain towards the rear wheel by about 3-5mm the rub goes and all is well, remove the finger and the rub is back!! This happens on both 53 and 39 chain rings. The 6 lower cogs on the cassette don't throw up this snag.

The chain line seems straight and the rear derailleur seems to be adjusted correctly, the only thing I haven't been able to do is have the hangar alignment checked but it looks pretty straight.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

Mavic use their own freehub size, which is wider than a normal 8-10 speed one. This means all 8-10 speed cassettes need the Mavic spacer which is provided with the wheels, while the 11 speed Shimano cassettes don't need it.

Just seen this in the FAQs Cassette Compatibility section, I have Mavic Kysrium Elites, my SRAM Apex 10 speed used a spacer however when I switched the hub for Campag it didn't come with the spacer and after fitting the cassette it doesn't seem to need a spacer.

Would the lack of spacer on the 10 speed Campag cause the problem above?
