Well we all know how expensive cycling can be sometimes but just occasionally you can get levels of service that can justify some lofty expenditure.

Unfortunately, I had a couple of spills over the winter and managed to tear my Assos biblongs, and then in a later accident tore my Assos bibshorts and legwarmers. Having read about the repair service, I returned them via the UK distributor a few weeks back and this morning had them posted back to me having been repaired to an excellent standard. Terrific stuff!

Yes they're pricey but they feel good quality and when things like this happen, the expenditure feels justified. The Assos repair service has been mentioned before on the forum but in an age when we are quick to moan about customer service, it's perhaps worth repeating the message when a company gets it right!

Good to know and nice to see a positive post regarding customer service.

They don't charge, it's part of the service you get when you buy thier kit. You pay for the out postage and they send it back. You're not only covered for crash repair, they'll also fix your kit if it wears out over a set period:

Rapha offer the same service and I've had kit fixed up by them within a week.

As the poster above this said - no charge for repair. I simply paid the postage cost to the Uk Distributor - was a matter of a couple of pounds. They were returned to me at nil cost.

I wasn't aware that they would repair/replace for what might be considered to be normal wear/usage ie. some reports of their bibshorts becoming 'see-through' after a period of time (looks like it will be more than a few years of use for my bibshorts and I ride approx. 150 miles a week.) If they did this then then I would be a bit surprised but others may know better.

Sorry, I meant to go a bit further and quote this bit

"Any manufacturing defect you note on your garment within the first 300 km / 200 miles on the bike. No questions asked; we simply exchange it."

I had an issue (my only one with Assos) with a pair of bibs very much outwith the 200 miles where I felt they had pilled up a bit too quickly even though they had been washed to instruction (in the bag and away from velcro/zips). Bibs were fixed.

So yeah, after 3 years and 15,000 miles they're not going to fix your bibs

However...if you crash two years down the line I'm sure they'd honour their repair service!

They certainly have done with me because this is the third season with my biblongs!

Exactly, the mesh outer fabric on my windblocker top has seperated from the mainbody of the top ( the sales rep apparantly thinks it has been caused by excess heat, possibly from a tumble dryer cycle being accidently left on with my washer ) ..it is over 3 years old but he has advised me they will replace it at cost
