Hi,

I noticed this a while ago and thought nothing of it but thought i would check if it is a problem or if it is normal (e.g. just the paint), the wheels have probably done about 2000 miles and they are aluminium.

    It looks like very dry leather or an old tire (my first thought before reading). Probably a bad surface coating. I have never seen alike on aluminium rims. Any prints on this surface, it could be a sticker too.
