20mm axle becoming obsolete?

Would you say it's a risk buying a 20mm axle fork? It seems the that there aren't many hub options for 20mm and all the newer forks seem to be 15mm. Is the 20mm standard dead? I'm looking to buy a 29er fork and would prefer the 20mm axle but if 20mm axles are going to be obsolete 3 years down the line when I may need to replace a hub then that will have a significant influence on my purchase decision.

I prefer QR but if you were going to have a big axle like that it may as well be 20mm, why half arse it and go 15mm?0
