Good morning.

I'm new to www.bikehike.co.uk I've made a route for my Garmin and upon clicking the 'save button' I'm given the following options:

tcx
gpx route
txt
gpx track
kml
gpxx route

I know that Garmin uses GPX files and I know how to upload them. The question I have is shoud I use 'gpx route' or 'gpx track' ?

What is the difference?

Thanks a mil.

The 'track' will give you turn by turn navigation.

    Cheers Cleat.

    'Track' is better for Garmin?

I use tcx, but coincidentally there was a thread just such a choice the other week

    here

Have a look at the scarltfire link in that thread too for some good info on garmins.

    Really helpful Cleat, thank you.

Going to try the tcx on a short route as a trial run. Then, input the rest of the proposed rides.

    Cheers!

TCX is the best to use for the Garmins, you get the route and the turn-by-turn directions.
