Upgrading to a 11-28 cassette

Hi all,

I am buying a 2012 Cannondale Supersix Ultegra Di2. It comes with a 12-25T but I want to put on a 11-28. After reading the Shimano dealer manual it looks as if it only officially supports a space of 16T between bottom and top. Am I still able to get away with fitting an 11-28 cassette - it's only one tooth greater than Shimano recommend?

The manual says total capacity 33T, 16T on the front and 17T at the rear. You will probably need a longer chain though.
  • Oh okay, I read it as 16T capacity for rear derailleur. I've ordered the cassette along with a new Ultegra chain so will give it a go.

    Thanks.

    Why do you say "upgrading"

    Surely it's just "changing" ?

Just terminology. I mean the same thing as changing.
