Hi,
When I first got a road bike I picked up a Giro Ionos (It's a few years old) but I never really liked it. I'm not sure if the new Ionos is a different shape ? but I'd like something less mushroom head looking Are there any that are smaller looking or a nicer shape. I had a look at my local shop but they were mostly Specialized ones are nothing caught my eye. Any suggestions, doesn't have to be Giro.
Thanks.

KASK are a bit lower profile, so are Lazer. Recommend you just go try a few on first and see how the fit is. Style is nothing if its not fitting your head right. I would go over a good fit over looks every time. Currently using a Giro Atmos. Fits me perfect but I am aware it is a bit larger looking compared to the Bell Sweep I really wanted at the time but didn't really fit me right.0

The problem I find trying helmets on in shops is that you’re usually wearing ‘normal’ clothes so they all look a bit odd0

You could strip off and stand there naked with the helmet on. Would you get a better idea then?0 -
Buy a Kask Mojito, mine is my best purchase to date, I like it...a lot.0

Try range of helmets at LBS and buy one that fits your head - simples.
