Replacement Chain and Cassette – Raleigh Airlite 100

I’ve bought a second-hand Raleigh Airlite 100. It’s going to be my station-and-back bike.

I need to change the running gear as the chain is shot. I’ve googled for replacement Shimano 2300 cassette and chain and I can only find the full 2300 groupset to buy.

Question: Can I use any old 8-speed Shimano Cassette and Chain?
