Gatorade G Series - Review

So I decieded to try a new sports drink and choose to give the Gatorade G-Series Lemon a go. After all if its good enough for Team Sky its good enough for me.

So it arrived on Saturday and although I had just got back from a cycle I decieded to make a weak 250ml up to get an idea for taste. I wasnt quite sure initally and felt it was upsetting my gut. However, the next day I made up two 500ml bottles at half the recommend amount and headed out on the club ride.

1st I was quite satisfyed with the taste and actually preferred it to the Torq Lemon & Lime drink I was using before. 2nd wow this stuff is like rocket fuel, not only does it give you an instant hit of energy it also seems to last. I took a large swig of the stuff before hitting a long hill and suddenly I was a climbing god leaving everyone in the group behind and racing to the top to grab KOM on strava.

After the 50 mile club ride averaging 17.2mph I decieded to have a go at the clubs 10m TT route and averaged 19.6mph, which after 50 miles I dont think is bad.

Got home and done just over 100K and averaged 17.6Mph, which is my fastest 100k by far. I also felt I had enough energy just to keep going.

My initial verdict on Gatorade is this stuff is amazing and if it continues to be as effective then I am certainly going to use it and may even give the pre and post ride stuff a go.

Sounds like you got one of the 'special' tubs that were reserved for sky, whilst it's evident that sky have the regular punter tubs at the giro. :D

If you mix up double the dose, you can fly and scale building with a single bound. You won't even need the bike!!!

All that from a powder you can buy online. I knew these Elite cyclists were a sham just hiding their magical power powders from us mere mortals. Don't let the rest of your group take it or you will just go back to been a nobody in the middle of the pack .

Edit: My boss is a Team SKY fanboy who sups Gatorade, I will enjoy destroying his world.

Was going to say, most riders create their own drinks from whatever they feel works best for them. Gatorade is just a sponsor. No one said its mandatory for the riders to drink it, so long as its in one of their bottles. No one ever seen the domestiques collect drinks for the team leader and pass them on? The team car will carry their particular concoction and hand it out when they need it.

End of the day, its only water, salt and sugar and a few additives and flavourings. the difference between Gatorade and any other brand on the market is probably only 0.1% Same sh!t, different label
