Just had a blast round Chopwell woods never been there after such heavy rainfall we had yesterday so nice soft ground.
My runs down powerline trail seemed to be faster 18.7mph max and 10mph average, don't know if this is ok or pathetic times but i'm sure the soft ground helped with more grip.

There's some much better trails there than the Powerline if you know where to look ;)

Good on you for braving it today though, until about 4pm it was murky as hell here! I decided not to go for a ride fearing a repeat of yesterdays abysmal weather.

think yourself lucky I went for a ride along a river trial/path and lost grip and was about few inches from a 3ft drop and stones and a river.

never been so happy to have half decent brakes and tyres

Is that a towpath? You just have to remember there's a good side and a bad side to fall off . . .
