Hi, has anyone got one of the Planet X pro carbon bikes and any reviews on it, It seems a good price at £1399, with Ultegra, I weigh 82 kg and ride about 150-200 miles a week, hoping to enter a Vets race or 2 in the future, also looking at Giant TCR Advanced 3 which gets great reviews but lower spec and more money.

Its a flexy frame and fork, I've owned 2 over the years an they aren't a bad bike for the money at all.
I've owned a fair few carbon bikes over the years and had the chance to test many when working in a shop and I say for the money its a good piece of kit.
I think the strong points with planet x are the finishing kit which is quite light and strong and the same also goes for the wheels.
Also they have a fantastic warranty.
The geometry on the SL pro means you have a lot of seat post showing if you're long legged and I felt I had quite a bit of weight over the rear of the bike.
I personally would pick the sram rival version over the ultegra version as the sram weighs less and sram UK have better back up than shimano.
I'd then get some planet x 52mm carbon clinchers or another set of nice wheels. I think the bike really looks good in white.0 -
Generally meant to be good & offer great value - I might look at Ribble and Canyon before you buy though. All offer nice bikes for the cash.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

As far as I know Dolan use the same frame. I'd be more swayed at the Sram Force and specify the Mavic Aksiums. Comes with 3t finishing kit as standard.

Ps I'm not a Dolan salesman, a chap at work has one and I was very impressed. He picked up a full Utlegra (6700) version last year for £1k. They did a sale when the Tour de France was on.0 -
Agree with the white comment, wish I went for white...
