How safe is it to buy a 2nd hand carbon bike when I cant inspect it and just have to trust the seller and get it couriered? Is there any difference in buying a ally bike 2nd hand really?

Cheers

Nick

Not really a big difference, you're still relying on the good nature of the seller, but other than issues in the carbon can be much less obvious to the untrained eye, it's a similar risk.

Is it worth taking that risk though?

Well I work with and inspect carbon panels almost daily on aircraft so I know how strong it is but I have never really thought about the implications of actually owning something carbon.

As you say really its wether I can trust the seller or not.

I'd be just as worried if aluminium.

Kind of the general consensus from reading around is what you say.

Any way the bike I was looking at has sold now so back to my decision between 3 haha
