Compatibility Question

Hi All

I'm running shimano 105 dbl 5700 10 chainset 170 39/53 with a 11-28 cassette and short rear mech,

i'm struggling a bit with the cassette and think i would be better with a 12-25, would i be ok to swap the cassette out without changing anything else ? and could i use a ultegra 12-25 cassette.

That'll fit fine, yes.

What is the problem with the current cassette?

Any 10 speed shimano cassette should fit but depending on the issue may not solve your problem.

i'm thinking that the 11-28 range is too much and i could make better use of a tighter range mid section like a 12-25,

i'm 90 % sure that i'll never need 11. might just need to get a bit fitter!!!
