Hi there I am looking to buy my first road bike but don't have the budget to buy a nice new bike, due to getting married next year etc. Therefore I decided the used bike market is my best bet to get something a bit better for my money. I have been offered a Scott CR1 Pro with Aluminum frame, carbon forks, 18 speed shimano tiagra gears for £350. Does this sound like a good deal? I have been looking at the btwin triban 5a which is 27 sora. I believe tiagra is a step up from sora however being an older model would this gearing being any different to the modern versions?
Any advice guidance would be most welcome and recieved.

The bike looks exactly the same as the one I have found here:http://media.thehubsa.co.za/uploads2/20100310_022820_resize1.jpg

Thanks
Dave

That's a lot of money to pay for a 2004 bike with that spec even if it is in good condition IMO
