What is the nicest short sleeve jersey you own ?

I love vintage style jerseys that have little or no advertising that are a solid colour with a white band across the upper chest area, altura make their own version but it has a big Altura logo in the white band that I think brings it down for me. Im still looking though for nice jerseys in the vintage style which I described. I have some really nice bianchi and castelli jerseys that I like a lot but I know once I find the right nice vintage style one Ill simply be made up.

What is the nicest short sleeve jersey you own and why do you hold it in higher esteem over others which are part of your collection ? The jersey styles that are plastered in advertising and make the wearer look like a walking billboard are the ones that I like least.

I like the big brands, especially the really really expensive ones. What's that one that starts with an R again?

I don't personally like wearing 'logo' clothing - plain and simple is my preference. I own one of the Altura ones you mention, in a long-sleeve, and it is a nice design. Recently though while wearing it at a Bike Jumble in Ripley, a couple of old-timer riders asked to look at it, and when they saw the 'Altura' logo across the breast, were severly disappointed! My fave short-sleeve jersey is the basic Rapha; all black, with a white band on the left arm. Simple, good-quality and effective.

This is also another one I own, understated IMO.

The best jersey I ever owned was made by Briko, I bought it in Italy in 2005, it was plain blue and white and was cut perfectly. Unfortunately it got ruined in a crash a couple of years ago and I’ve not been able to find another the same.

Our club jersey is a nice fit too, made by Endura ... the ‘pro road jersey’ model.

Quite fond of my Twin Six "Speedy Bike Club London" jersey:

But in terms of quality and fit it has to be:

Torm T7 - http://torm.cc/t7.html. Simple, understated, comfortable, sensible pockets.

A Rapha one bought on sale a few years ago - 2006, as I recall. Still looking good despite much, much wear

Got a couple of Rapha ones which are great, my adidas yellow team sky looks great but hate the 2 inch zip! REally want to get my hands on a rapha pro team jersey as they look to mutts nuts.

My couple of Rapha jerseys are great, but I have to say that I prefer my Torm jersey - arms are an inch or so longer, fit slightly better, full zip and half the price of Rapha.

Worst jersey is an endura merino (baa baa?): baggy, poorly cut, too long, cr@p pocket - why not proper pockets? Utter sh1te. Don't buy one.

I like my Marmite Foska one.

The black and yellow works well with the Rose

In fairness, it's a great fit and lovely quality too.

With the shape I'm in at the moment it really wouldn't be right for me to squeeze into a tight fitting jersey.

If I could, I'd own the Classic Look jersey

    My fave ever altura-ergo-jersey-2010-zoom.jpg

Simple, not too many logos but stylish, great shape (for me), splash of red & black - I have it in both the white and the black and love them. Even better, I got it really cheap so bought a few!!!

My new Giordana Gshield jersey! I love my Rapha's Pro Team and Italian jerseys but the Gshield is the dogs. It looks like a Gabba but it's minus the big logos and it's been mistaken for it in the peloton. Same jersey as Quick Steps but theirs has Vermarc logos (made by same manufacturer). Ideal for the UK climate ;-) Only place I could buy it from was here http://www.competitivecyclist.com/produ ... 8.4.1.html

I've got a Foska SS top too and love it though it was the most expensive jersey I bought.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Fond of my MOA Negoska apart from one thing. The zip only goes half way down which makes toilet stops a pita!
Stylish, Incredibly comfortable and light as a feather.

Used to be a challenge trying to find MOA stockists but now Wiggle are in on the act it's not a problem.
