I currently have a road bike which I ride quite a lot and a mountain bike that I use not so much.
I quite fancy a 29er so was going to try a big rr 5.3 to see if I liked it as it wasn't a bad price
I cannot purchase anything on a cycle scheme as I am still in one
i am 5.10 but don't have a massive inside leg
The size guide says large but im only 20mm into the large
Any advice from Someone would be great
Thanks

I'm always borderline between Medium & Large frames but I'll always gor for the smaller frame just for the chuck-about-ability of it"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

...also quite interested in why you think you'll use a 29er more than your current (presuming, 26" wheeled) mountain bike?"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

I live in the hills and right on the c2c route in Durham
I find at the minute coming off my road bike onto my giant 26er that its very slow
I live right on the sustrans 14 and 7 track and its not what you would say mountainous
I want to try this and then see what I should spend more money on my next scheme
It may be either better 29er or expensive mountain bike or a good hybrid
A hybrid may be an option now but can't find something I like cheapish0 -
Voodoo Marasa, 29er, rigid, fairly quick out the box but narrower tyres make a big difference.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I went to have a look at one of these last night
Wasn't overly impressed
Seemed less flexible for my possible needs and seemed quite heavy for solid forks0
