Canyon Yellowstone 29er - or others? help please.

Hello one and all,
Another "which is best" question I'm afraid. I'm getting to the point where I have to actually make a purchase, and I keep coming back to the same choice....this should be telling me something eh?
I'll be riding a fair bit of tarmac and nothing more adventurous than trails through the woods and the occasional 50-60 mile tour. I'm fully aware that these are more bike than I'll ever need, but what can I say, I just want one!

I know there's a sizing guide on their website and the bike is 30 day returnable but I thought I'd check with you guys to see if there's any owners out there who can help. Anyone got one and can you suggest a more accessible bike that would give me a very close feel regarding size, geometry and overall rider position? I'm a whisker under 6ft, and about as regular proportioned as you can get, and have found both these recommended bikes in Medium to feel about right.
