Morning Losers!

Well, car has new coolant in it and seems to sound ok, however now I'm being told I have to take it to a garage. If it's expensive, I am contemplating getting rid, though this means I don't have a bike carrier...

Today, I have some idiot student coming in to see me about acoustics, he's had 3 months to come and visit me, and he's decided to come in this week as his deadline is on Friday

Anywho, Laters!

Legoland and Antur Stiniog in one week!? I'm not jealous!!

I'm growing addicted to Antur. I keep looking at DH bikes to see how I'd get on with one. Sadly I think my car means I won't be able to now :(

    Morning gang

Half day today, as is the norm for Wednesdays, probably end up working. Went out on the roadie machine last night, it was wet, cold and horrible. I regreted it. Was quite comical as a fair few people slid out on some of the slippier roads. Tomorrow unfortunately is results day, I'm not expecting anything good...

Busy day ahead and a shoot lot to do afterwards too.

My friend called last night to say that whilst we were on holiday some thieving chav scumbag broke into her shed and stole her new mountain bike. It was only two months old. I reckon it has been targeted because there were other bikes in the shed but they were ignored. The must have follwed her home from Grizedale and watched her take it off the car. F**kin' scum. I have to go to the police station to provide any info I can.

So if any of you see a White Ghost Miss RT 5100 for sale that looks a dodgy deal just give me a shout.

    Later......

    Mornin' clumpnuggets,

I have no idea what today will bring, apart from the slight smell of drying cycling gear as it was persisting down for the ride in this morning.

As a related aside, I commute on a CX bike and I have to say, in the rain, I would wholeheartidly support the introduction of disk brakes.Roadie cantilevers (even my mini-V's) are s**t when it rains. Mountain biking woke up to discs decades ago, so come on roadies, wake up and smell the sintered pads, eh.

Sounds like you need a new car anyway man! Can't your blender hack it? Ive got a mate who rides dh on a blender

    Anywho,

Going through 500 hand drafted record drawings today. Everything is in feet and inches and the proposed "scaffolding" are wooden barrels with planks across the tops! old school to say the least

    Morning people

TKM it looks like you may have saved it, but best to get it checked over to be on the safe side, on a trip to France a few years ago my mates car packed up going downg the M6 near Birmingham, engine seized,it was that hot you could of cooked a 3 course meal on it.

What I didn't know was he had been having problems for a couple of weeks with his radiator fan constantly being on even when his car stopped, he said he thought it was just playing up and his coolant was ok and full, what I realised when he lifted the hood was when he said his coolant what he actually meant was his wiper fluid, a complete numpty and nearly a trip I had been looking forward too for a year ruined. It cost him in over well over a grand in the end for new engine and bits and cost of borrowing a mates van for the week.

Anyways good luck on that front, onto bike related stuff, rode some new trails local to me yesterday and was impressed they are a lot of fun and was completely goosed afterwards. My gear shifting is getting poorer even with new inners and outers so I may have to look at a complete new chainsets and shifters. Overtime is needed to pay for new bits so they will have to do for now until some comes along.

    Cornflakes and caffeine await, laters

I do, problem is I was hoping this one would survive another year, when I'll have more monies. The Blender can certainly hack the DH, I was flying on Saturday down Antur! The only downside is that you can't carry much speed through the rocky parts, the rear end bouncing slows you down. Other than that though, I was actually making air! Me! Both wheels off the ground!! :D

leevil knievil Yeah, I think I caught it just in time. This car has been a constant drain on my wallet since I bought it. One of the biggest mistakes I've made. The fans started playing up on Friday night I think, that was certainly the first time I noticed it, so I've acted quickly really.

    Bugger.
On the drive to work this morning the water temp light started to flash red so pulled over into a petrol staion checked the water tank and it was low. Topped it up with heaters on hot and full off i go to work. All cooled down so topped back up with water start the engine to look underneath and see coolant leaking out.

Long story short water pump has gone which means new water pump and cam belt. I'm sure there's better ways to spend £250 :(

    Afternoon,

First day back at work after my week off. I think it will take me a week to catch up.

Looks like I'm in the same club as everyone else - car needs 3 new tyres to get through the mot, a broken spoke to sort on one bike, new brake hoses needed for one set of brakes, need to sell the g/f's car but the oil light has come on and the oil level is fine, need to sell my car after mot but need to get a door replaced first and that will set me back £310.

Going on holiday on 28th July so looks like I'm living on dust and water till then.

Busy in work. World seems to be on an even keel at the moment. My car tax and breakdown cover are up this month so a nice bunch of car cash to be spent now.

Just had an email confirming when my Isle of Wight festival tickets will be sent. Only 29 days now to hen party time. Sorting fancy dress for it this weekend.

Pirate ship is still outside, the sun is shining, escaping to sea wouldn't be a bad idea I think.

    Afternoon Scuttlers

Nan is improving very well but still not great but at least heading in right direction. My own personal run of bad luck is continuing though as had a letter to new house today outlining proposals to stop on road parking at the front of the house which is cack as the parking at the back is sufficient for one small car. If i had known this previously id have found a different house. Obviously i shall be writing a strongly worded letter to my ombudsman

How have you not heard of an ombudsman!? It's the special word that gets most companies doing anything you ask them to!
