people keep moaning at me to buy a helmet among other things.
anyway having a helmet seems like a sensible idea if im going to be doing lots of cycling jus wondering what people what recommend. im not a very wealthy so nothing really expensive but I would like something which wont fall apart so no £1 shop shit.
thanks for reading.

Go into a shop and find one that fits. Then look online to see if you can find it cheaper.
They all have to comply with minimum standards.
I'm lucky, my head is £20 Bell shaped.
And no stupid jokes including end. Thank you.I don't do smileys.

I've just bought a Specialized Align. Very happy with it for £30 - fits (me) spot on, clever strap design, comfortable and looks good too (I bought a black one, but it comes in various colours). Covered by crash replacement scheme too. Can't fault it for the price.0

I have heard that helmet price has a good correlation with value of the contents! :P

+2. I have a Spesh Tactic and it fits my head very well.
the best helmet is the one that fits, end of.0 -
The Bells are not at all bad, excellent for the price, I also like Boardmans, for circa £50 (Halfords) and the pads are readily available for £6!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I'll second a Lidl's helmet. Plus if you do have a knock and need to replace it, it is only a tenner. It also means it's more likely to be replaced (when it should be in an accident) where as a £50+ may not.0 -
Personally, I found the Giro Hex a good fit, very similar to my Abus Aduro, however, the Abus is half the price and has the red light, which is useful if you're anywhere nead CD.Planet X Kaffenback 2

Had a The F-1, fit great. Missuz cut all my hair off, doesn't fit. Ordered a 661 Recon, too small and gotta feeling even the bigger size will be uncomfortable. Just ordered a Giro Feature (for £40!)..will see what happens"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes
