Hola chaps and chappetes,

Well after all the rain in the last year or so i figure its only going to get worse, and my current Altura waterproof is getting old and tatty. It hasn't been particularly great buy either though at £45 i wasn't in a place to complain.

I have been nosing around and spotted

Reads up well, and looks smart (not worried about high vis i wont be on roads.) and is available in black instead of the usual awful reflective colours.

Anyone else got any suggestions, looking to top out about £100 as i think you can get some decent gear for this price if your careful.

Cheers

    Your link doesn't work.

I bought a good North Face waterproof from Wiggle, but they don't seem to do them any more.

    it sure does :)

No experience of the jacket, but it does look pretty good. Like the high neck for keeping the rain out.

Hi mate, I've had an Endura Flyte for a couple of years and am very happy with it. It's tough, very breathable, great fit and when it wears out I'll buy another one. Definitely recommended.

Why did they put the pocket fly covers the wrong way round. Very strange.

I was considering an endura but the cut and colours remind too much of the 90's mtb style.

It's quite easy to make a cheap waterproof jacket and it's quite easy and cheap to make breathable softshell jacket. More expensive and harder to make a waterproof and breathable jacket.

I'd opt for a highly breathable option and keep the DWR fresh. Don't wash in anything but tech wash or pure soap flakes, never use conditioner and replace the DWR regularly. As soon as a jacket wets out, it stops being breathable.
