Hi All,
I saw these Ass Savers min rear mudguards on a website recently
http://ass-savers.com/
Has anyone tried them at all? i'm not that fussed about getting a bit wet elsewhere just the line up the ass is a tad uncomfortable.
any thoughts?
cheers

Come on! You call this a storm? Blow, you son of a bitch! Blow! It's time for a showdown! You and me! I'm right here! Come and get me!0 -
Yep, have been using one for about a year...excellent bit of kit (I hate normal mudguards)0

I use one of these, fit the bracket behind the brake and clips on.

have an ass saver myself. Does work, but doesn't prevent the mud stripe down the back, but it does keep you erse dry. It doesn't fit my Selle Royal Seta saddle very well due to it's narrowly spaced rails, so I had to modify it slightly.
The BBB guard linked about looks interesting, may have to get one to try it.0 -
I would thought it would work better if the blade was more spoon shape
Is there a patent on it?
Can't see why you couldn't make one out of card rather than spend 9 quid.0 -
Could probably make one out of a 4 pint platic milk carton, similar thickness of plastic ... card would get a bit soggy i reckon0

Been using a muckynutz butt-fender on the MTB for about a year now.

Not sure if it'd work on the Rose though as it's a monolink saddle.0 -
Naff name but good idea. I think I shall give one of these a go.0

Order placed!0

looks like a neat idea, but probably something I'd like to have a go at knocking up myself in the garage rather than spending £7 on a shaped strip of plastic.0

If it looks like its going to rain I use this
http://www.sks-germany.com/?l=en&a=prod ... &X-TRA-DRY
not pretty but it keeps me dry.
The arse saver etc only useful if you don't have a saddlebag and intend to fold it under your saddle when not using it.0 -
The butt fender looks like the better design.0

was very tempted yesterday...0

You know, you can actually buy inflatable mudguards (i have one by Topeak, don't know if anyone else makes them).
However. Rather than rolling it up into a ball (as shown) I just deflate mine and fold it over once and stuff it in my back pack so that it runs down the center of my spine. Good for mountain bikes but might look a bit funny on a road bike.
The yellow seat clamp bit easily separates from the main body and can be left on the seat tube if you prefer (the rest of the fender just slides and clicks into place). The two silver nodules on the side of the arm that comes immediately off the inflatable section are press clamps that allow you to alter the angle of the mudguard (no need for allen keys, just press the nodules to loosen up the joint and then let go when at he correct angle).
