Need Help Choosing

Hi there!
My dad and I have recently began MTB but I need to get a new bike. I'm only 18 with a part time job so I don't have a huge budget and I want to pay for it myself so it's officially mine haha.
My budget is a MAX £600 but I may stretch if I feel like it is worth it. I need some new gear too so any savings would be great.
I've short listed 3 bikes and these are Voodoo hoodoo, boardman comp 2011 and cannondale trial xl3.
I sat on the voodoo and liked the feel but the other bikes were on high stands so I have no clue on what they feel like. The riding i will be doing are commuting, light trials/jumps and slightly rough terrain at Dalby forest.
Thanks for your help!
