Hi,
New to this forum and getting back into biking after a long time!
I was hoping someone could give me some buying advice as looking to purchase this week.....
The two bikes i am looking at are:
Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 29er
http://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bikes/ ... portdisc29
or
Cube Aim Disc 29er
http://www.cube.eu/en/hard/cross-country/aim-disc-29/
Some advice as to which one is the better bike would be good.... i have a budget of about £500-600.
Thanks in advance,
Lee

Neither. Both have very basic bits and nasty forks, but the Specialised is particularly bad.
You would get a better 26er for the money, Halfords and Decatlon being the commonly recommended places to start looking.I don't do smileys.

Cheers for the reply.
I have been toying with the idea of a Specialized Rockhopper Comp as well. At £800 it's £300 more than the Hardrock Sport Disc. I'm having a battle in my head as to what to spend.... I don't want to spend that much but i'd rather if i am going to benefit a lot if that makes sense?
What's your opinion on the Rockhopper Comp? Does the extra £300 get a much better bike?
I'm really looking for a 29er as i'm 6'4'' and like the idea of a bigger bike - they've always seemed a bit small for me in the past.
Cheers,

No idea on the Rockhopper as no link.
Plenty of big people ride 26ers.I don't do smileys.

For £500 I would be looking at a Rockrider (from Decathlon), or Voodoo Hoodoo (from Halfords).
Upping your budget to £800 means you will have even more to choose from - but I still wouldn't go for a Rockhopper.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)
