Hi all, first time poster,
Times are tough and the car has to go so in the market for a reasonable entry level mountain bike, will be using it for leisure and commuting, probably hit some light trails around here.
Ive spent the last few days reading forums, review sites and generally just getting to know whats what within the price range I'm looking at which is around 500£ no more. I appreciate that folk will say buy a higher spec'ed second hand bike rather than a new lower end model but I will be buying on finance and would like something new and require the XL models and these seems a bit thin on the ground especially in my area in Cornwall when buying used.
Ive come up with a noobie list, bearing in mind the price range could your critique my choices and point me in the right direction:
Marin Bolinas Ridge '13
Cube Aim Disc '13
Giant Revel 0.5 '13
Giant Revel 0 '12
Felt Nine 70 '13
Merida Matts 70 '13
I get the feeling these are all pretty similar, any comments, experiences, best value of this lot, any others to consider?. All these are 495-500£
Thanks

Your best bang for your buck at this price point is likely to be a Decathlon Rockrider 8.1 (now £550) or a Voodoo Hoodoo from Halfords. Both are likely to be head and shoulders above the big brands, although I haven't looked up each of those you have listed.
If you want specific advice on any other choices, then it's best if you add a link0 -
Hi,
Yea Ive seen both of those but cannot find 0% deals on either, Halfords don't do any kind of deals at all, I was keen on the Kraken.
