bike choice advice

Hello, looking to buy a bike after ten plus years of not cycling at all. Mainly for pleasure country lanes complete with pot holes. I have been advised by local bike shop to consider Giant Roam 4 @ £360, but I could get a Ridgeback Momentum 2012 second hand, hardly used for about £150. Which is the better bike for my use, about 30-40 miles a week?

If the Ridgeback fits and is in good condition, then it is a good buy. The roam 4 is pretty poor for the cash.
