Bolt on is for frame without a fixing on the seat tube. It comes with its own band that wraps round the seat tube, which you then tighten to the frame (sometimes refered to as band on).
Yours already has a brazed on fixing on the down tube so you just need a front mech to bolt to it,without any band (so refered to as braze on).
A bit counter intuitive, but the name refers to the method of seat tube fixing, not what you actually need to buy to fix on (otherwise you would get a bolt on).
Confused...you are now :-)Yellow is the new Black.0 -
The term bolt in this context isn't at all helpful.
The 2 options should be referred to as Braze on (which you have) or Band on / Clamp on which you don't.0 -
Englander wrote:I have a question related to band ons... On my Spec Allez I have a band on, and it bisects the nuts where I would put my second bottle cage on the seat tube. Are there any bottle cages which can get around the fact that a band on FD is in the way?
Get a couple of spacers and stand the cage off the frame.

Some bottle cages will have the neccessary clearance anyway.0

i just cut a bit out of the back of the bottle cage, 2 mins with a hacksaw and blade, gave it a quick blast with a file and it looks like it was meant to be there, best of all free!0
