on-one Lurcher carbon 29er

Hi all, just looking for thoughts, i am changing over from racing elite road races to starting MTB XC. At a point in my life when need to find the enjoyment again. Looking around for a carbon 29er ( been recommended). Have found an on-one lurcher. They currently offer a complete build on the website for £1299. Is it any good? Or do i get the frame and then build up with better forks, wheels, groupset. Looking at funds to approx 2k. My current road sponsor does not do 29ers otherwise i would be laughing. On-one also do a race 29er frame for a few hundred more, do i get the slightly better frame and lower the spec or lurcher at higher spec?? Comments welcomed.
