How will a Giant Reign 2 compare with a Commencal Meta 55?

Sadly (or not depending on insurance payout) my 2010 Commencal Meta 55 has been stolen. I don't know quite how the insurance company are going to deal with it but I have been looking at a 2013 Giant Reign 2 to replace it. I'm slightly concerned however that the Reign might be more bike than I need. (The main reason I had the Meta was I picked the frame up dirt cheap). Does anyone have any experience of both bikes and if so how will the Reign compare to the Meta? Ideally I'd test ride one, but looking at other posts Giant don't seem to have many demo ones. My Meta was a custom build and had 150mm Sektors at the front and the stock RP2 rear shock.

I'm also tempted by a Norco Sight 3 SE (with an added reverb) or a Canyon Nerve AL+ 7 but I might be stuck with a certain supplier for the insurance hence the Reign (as I know they stock this).
