Hi
Please help,I am doing the Dougie Mac ride to LLangollen on Sun 19th ,the 110 mile route.
I want to download the route file to my Garmin 500 ,there is a link on the web site through Mapometer which enables you to do this.
I am able to get the file onto my Garmin,or at least it looks like I have when I check the files but I cant find it when I fire my Garmin up and look for it under courses or anywhere else.
I am transfering my file to the new files, file on the Garmin and have tried this on both a PC and MAC but I cannot find it when I restart my Garmin after ejecting it.

Any clues what Im doing wrong.

The route is probably called "RPT001 to RPT1414" on your device or something like. If not post a direct link to the gpx file.

This is because the gpx file name is not always the route name within the file, sloppy file handling.

    Thanks for that freezing,
Must be something I'm doing but I can't find any file at all that looks anything like.
I'm going into the menu selecting training then courses.
At this point I'm see a file called BIKE000 which is a recent ride I did and I select below this where it says NEW which comes up with a list of my most recent rides.
Can't see anywhere else where the file would be.
    Appreciate the help.

Did you download it as a GPX route as I see it has 1400 plus waypoints, this may be too many for the 500.
Maybe try to download it as a gpx track.

Tried both ,still can't see it.
Might try deleting the history see if it will make a difference
