Hi riders, I'm 17 this year, recently picked up mtbing as hobby and I'm working as a part timer and I am about to get my 1st bike by paying on my own although my dad offered to pay a part of it for me and I need some advice from more experienced riders.
My budget for my bike is £750
What kind of mtb could I get?
A FS or HT would be better for my budget?
What FS/HT do you recommend?
Hope to see some replies from you.
Pardon my bad English as English isn't really my best language.

For that budget, start with a hardtail, look at one of the Boardmans from Halfords or the Rockrider 8.1 at Decathlon is excellent valueCurrently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I heard from my friends that GT and Giant bikes are much better. Is that true?
If so, what GT/Giant bikes could I afford with this amount of budget and in a scenario whereby my dad pays a part of it (lets say £250)?0 -
Your friends are wrong. Some will be, but will cost more. At the same price you'll get more, and a better bike for your money with one of Beginners' suggestions.I don't do smileys.

Many thanks to you guys! I guess I'm getting Boardman HT Comp (http://www.integratedriding.co.uk/page2 ... rands.html) or I should spend an extra 500 bucks to get HT Team? :?0
