Getting some new wheels and need some 6 bolt rotors to go with them. I have XT brakes and am a bit confused as to which rotors I need. Can I use ice-tech rotors and do I need special pads to go with them? Do I need to use shimano or is there a better option?

I do XC mainly, no alpine style rides

Thanks

Any disc with whatever pads you have.......or put in for that matter!

Thanks. Superstar do floating and non floating by the look of things, what are floating, are they better? Forgive the ignorance but I couldnt find a decent explanation anywhere.

Don't bother. The rotor is attached to the spider with rivets that allow a bit of movement to allow for the heat expansion differential between steel and aluminium. Worthwhile on large capacity motorcycles maybe, pointless and cause problems on bikes.
