I got new Mavic Ksyrium SLR wheels yesterday all fitted with the brake pads. I noticed a bigger click in the cranks then normal which is FSA SLK Light carbon crankset. When i get off the bike i pushed on the right hand side of the crank with one foot when i press down on the crank it makes a click (almost pushing it down and in) like its flexing which makes the noise. It's quite hard to explain so i hope this is making sense. When i put the wheel on it has alot of tension on the side the casette/chain is on so if i loosened the screwer it would make the wheel pull to one side. Anyone know what this problem would be.

Hope somebody can help.

James

Nice kit there.. here's a stab in the dark .. are you using a spacer on the cassette?
    Is it loose?
You seem to be speaking some new fangled techno 21st century tweeterbabble so it's difficult to make sense of the issue.

Changing your wheels will have no affect on your crank.

It may affect your gears (due to different spacings on hubs etc).

It may also affect your brakes (due to different rim/tyre thickness).
    Yellow is the new Black.

Ok i was trying to talk my confused mind at the time lol. If i thought about it anymore i would of confused myself ha ha.

I have tried setting up the gears to the new wheel tonight which solved my problem. As my gears where out of line because of my new wheels is was pulling the wheel unevenly making it click through to the cranks. Now the gears have been realigned the balance on both sides is even. I hope someone understands me here ha ha. When i put the wheel on the bike with the old set up instantly the wheel was pulling to the cassette side giving it to much tension.

It's just about fine tuning the gears now for smooth shifting. I'm a happy person now.

    :)
  • Glad you've fixed it, I've still no idea what you're on about though :)
