World and National Champion's Jerseys

Hi all,
Just wondering, if a national champion, let's say Ian Stannard, had won the world championship last year whilst being a British National Champion, would he wear just the rainbow jersey, or would he wear some sort of hybrid with the British National Champ's one?
Know it might be a dumb question, but was curious as to what would happen?
Thanks

He'd just wear the World's jersey. Nobody would then wear the national jersey.

As happened with Hushovd in 2010. And Bettini in 2006. Oh and Bugno in 1991. Must be some others...

    ^Wot both said.

Speaking of double jerseys, has anyone got a pic of Dessel wearing that ridiculous polka dot yellow hybrid strip in 06?

The world's jersey always takes precedence over a national one (same with collars and cuffs)... never heard of anyone NOT wanting to wear the rainbow over the national one... :D

Legend Esa! Cheers for that. Could only find him collecting one on the podium rather than wearing it. Boy that was an abortion...

    And Bettini in 2006.
Back then Bettini tried to get away with a dual World's/Olympic jersey with Italian champs trim, but that got knocked on the head pretty quickly

Of course, once you've retired, you can wear what the hell you like:

I tried to get away with a combined Worlds/National jersey back in 89/90... the UCI jumped on it with a resounding "NON"... can't fit in the bloody thing now!

As evidenced by Bettini's shorts.

    Still smiling about that FP?
Funny thing is, young Alex D and our miss used to be best buddies, when they were starting out.
So, good to see him having success at the very top level, today.

I am still smiling, bit like finding a tenner, but you actually know what they're are capable of!

Are there any more from your miss's & Alex's crop to come through?

It's the IOC that don't permit riders to wear the Olympic rings because it's their trademark and team owners haven't the authority to use it.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
